Worth it if you're optimising for size and clarity per budget
A lab-grown diamond buys significantly more size and clarity for the same spend than a comparable natural stone β often the single biggest factor for buyers who want maximum visual impact on a fixed budget and don't especially care which type of diamond they end up with, only how it looks and what it costs. It also carries a smaller environmental and sourcing-diligence footprint than mined material, which matters to some buyers independently of price (see our ethical sourcing guide).
Not worth it if resale or heirloom value matters to you
If you want the stone to hold something close to its purchase price, or to be a piece that appreciates or at least holds value as an heirloom over decades, lab-grown is the wrong choice β its price keeps falling structurally, not just occasionally (see do lab-grown diamonds hold their value). A natural diamond isn't a guaranteed investment either, but it holds value far better, anchored by genuine scarcity that lab-grown material doesn't have.
